Josh Hartman, Partner

Josh has over ten years of legal experience defending cases throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky at both the trial and appellate levels. He graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2007 with a degree in International Relations, and graduated magna cum laude from Chase College of Law in 2012. Josh began his legal career at the Louisville Metro Public Defender's Office where he tried multiple cases to jury verdict, including those in which clients were facing life in prison. He also wrote several briefs for the Kentucky Supreme Court and Court of Appeals while at the Public Defender's Office.

Prior to joining Thompson Miller & Simpson, Josh also served a short stint as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Jefferson County. Additionally, he had a small private practice focusing primarily on criminal defense and divorce/child custody cases.

Outside of work, Josh spends his time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. He enjoys cooking, traveling, and is an avid sports fan.
